Hi to all !
Good news for all PMC lovers and those who wanted to try it but haven’t yet. Anyone can easily install PMC on their system with little effort. Only you need to do is, follow the steps which are mentioned below.
Fedora (17 and higher versions)
# yum groupinstall "Development Tools"
# yum install kde-workspace-devel kdelibs-devel
# yum install qt-mobility-devel
# yum install taglib-devel
# yum install kffmpegthumbnailer
# yum install nepomuk-core-devel
Ubuntu (12.10 and higher versions)
$ sudo apt-get install kde-workspace-dev kdelibs5-dev build-essential
$ sudo apt-get install libdeclarative-multimedia
$ sudo apt-get install libtag1-dev
$ sudo apt-get install kffmpegthumbnailer
$ sudo apt-get install nepomuk-core-dev
openSUSE (13.1 and higher versions)
(common to both ubuntu and fedora)
$ git clone git://anongit.kde.org/plasma-mediacenter
$ cd plasma-mediacenter
$ mkdir build
$ cd build
$ cmake .. -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=`kde4-config --prefix`
$ make -j(n+1) // n = number of cores
$ sudo make install
Note: If you find any error related to moccpp and don't want to build test, pass -DKDE4_BUILD_TESTS=OFF to cmake
